SALARY: $58.50 - 60.84/hr

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • At least 3 - 5 years of Management experience in a 24/7 health care setting.
  • Post-secondary education in Law, Security, Police Foundations, or Law Enforcement, or equivalent
  • Proven assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation skills related to leading team
  • Ability to assess, adapt, communicate and respond effectively within a constantly changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing/continuous professional development
  • Proven ability to work independently, utilizing critical thinking skillset
  • Demonstrated acceptable performance record

WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:

  • Demonstrated experience in implementing new programs and policies
  • Registered Security Guard license with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services or the ability to obtain within 3 months, if hired
  • Crisis Intervention Trainer Certified
  • Experience working with Body Camera’s and surveillance

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

You will lead a team of unionized Security Guards and Switch Board Operators to ensure the team is supported, trained and efficient in providing Security Services to the hospital. You will monitor the team’s performance by demonstrating STEGH’s core values, coaching, and provide development opportunities.  In addition to your Security duties, you will be champion of Fire Safety and will provide operational support of parking at STEGH.

The Manager is responsible to establish and maintain security polices and standard operating procedures, to ensure the Security team can maintain the safety of all persons in our care.  You will provide Crisis Intervention training as well as work closely with local Police authorities as required. You have specialized knowledge, skill and judgement, both in assessing security services and in planning, implementing and evaluating services provided.
