POSITION: Corporate Communications Specialist
Primary Site: Stratford
Temporary Full-Time 
 
POSITION SUMMARY:             The Corporate Communications Specialist, reporting to the Director Human Resources provides overall support for the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance’s (HPHA) communication activities.  The Specialist works closely with the Senior Team, Human Resources team, and key parties to promote HPHA as an exemplary healthcare institution and communicate its activities through timely, accurate and relevant communications.  
 
The Corporate Communications Specialist works closely with the President and Chief Executive Officer and the Director Human Resources to support proactive, engaging communications and the corporate branding strategy. The Specialist also supports the coordination of communications activities such as maintaining HPHA’s intranet and external website, newsletters, supporting social media channels, developing print publications and providing guidance and support for communications strategies and messages.  
 
REPORTS TO:             Director, Human Resources 
 
DATE REQUIRED:      December 2025
 
SALARY:                        $88,529 per annum 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related discipline OR a college diploma from a related program plus a professional designation 
• Accreditation in the Canadian Public Relations Society preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience with media relations, communications and marketing
• Previous experience in a healthcare and/or not-for-profit sector is preferred 
ABILITIES:
• Demonstrates knowledge of current and emergent communications trends including knowledge of web-based applications/opportunities
• Demonstrates excellence in written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including tact and discretion
• Demonstrates initiative, effective time management and organizational skills
• Proactively builds positive relationships with varied groups of internal and external parties including senior officials and government representatives
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Demonstrates patient-centered attitude and commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance
• Demonstrates knowledge of the Ontario health care system
• Demonstrated superior computer knowledge – use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and communications software applications, preferably Microsoft Office suite
• Demonstrates proficiency  using a content management system, email newsletter platforms and social media tools 
• Demonstrates a keen interest in learning about and implementing new and emerging tools as appropriate
